Chapter Webmaster, and resident Civil War history buff, Joe Schwenz Sr., led a ride to, and gave a tour of the
Parker's Crossroads Civil War battlefield. The group first ate lunch at the Loretta Lynn's restaurant, then toured the battlefield,
after which, we had ice cream, and a nice ride home.
NO! I am NOT disrespectfully sitting on a headstone! It was simply a marker indicating
where a Union Burial site had once been. I was telling the group about how the Union dead, from this battle, had once been
buried here, but no longer were.
